PART 4: Promiscuity Approaches for Men

PART 4: PROMISCUITY APPROACHES FOR MEN

Here are some factors that will help us understand this problem with men. Young men are often led to believe that their strong sex drive is not something they have ability to control. It is frequently looked upon with a smirk instead of thought-provoking instruction.

While they may be taught occasionally to save sex for marriage, they are barraged with worldly influences daily. Casual sex is rampant in television, movies, music, and social media, and pornography is abundant – all with no consequences. It is easy for young men to trust the constantly displayed deception as truth.

As with young women, young men fail to see their identity in Christ and His intricate design of their bodies made with the redeeming purpose of glorifying God. In addition, many are given relatively little godly influence, one lesson a year from their youth leaders at most, to withstand the tsunami of temptation they experience daily.

Many parents avoid the awkward subject because they were given too little information themselves and made poor choices for which they have no remedy.

If the parent watches movies and listens to music that promote promiscuity, that speaks much louder than obscure instructions to keep their pants on. Young men are told, with a wink, to use a condom, as though that will make sex safe. Yet there is no safe sex outside of marriage between a man and a woman.

Men of all ages, without consistent truth and accountability, have been compromised and programmed according to worldly patterns. If a young man leans toward gender dysphoria or homosexuality, many of these factors can also be at the root of the behaviors

The same three approaches, neglect, legislation, and grace, that apply to addressing promiscuity in women also apply to men.

  1. Men have the additional need of understanding that they are PROTECTORS of women.

From Old Testament times through the New Testament, God places the woman under man’s protection. When she is unmarried, she is under the protection of her father. When she is married, she is under the protection of her husband. Single women today do not usually have such protection, but a godly man will treat any woman as his sister or daughter in all purity, equal in value, unique in her expression of humanity.

  1. Men have the responsibility to not fall into the trap of a woman’s SEDUCTION.

  1. The most effective promiscuity approach with both men and women is with CONSISTENT, proactive, Biblical influence by teaching, example, and accountability in the home and by the church from early childhood through adulthood.

In a moment you will watch a video of some really good teaching on this subject from a pastor. But before that, I want to introduce you to a Bible Study for men, women, and couples that can begin a healing journey toward sexual health. I used to think it was just those who were molested as children or raped who needed sexual healing. The fact is, all sex outside marriage between a man and a woman is a sin, a trauma, and a loss. The person who sins sexually, sins against their own body We may pretend that we are okay after sinning sexually, even after many encounters. However, many seeds of destruction are planted that grow into thorns that effect every future relationship in sneaky ways whether we admit it or not. Rather than continuing to ignore this, consider a Journey to Purity class that Deprograms us from false beliefs, Reprograms us with the truth, and helps us heal from the damage in safe community. You can learn more at Hope and Grace Global.org.

Now, please enjoy this refreshing teaching from a pastor about sex.

After that, FACILITATOR: PLEASE GO OVER THE QUIZZES ON THE READING MATERIAL FOR PART 4 AND 5. SAVE ANY DISCUSSION OF THESE FOR THE REDEEMING THE STORY PART OF THE SESSION.
